Last weekend I provided the wedding cake for a beautiful wedding in Columbia, SC.  The wedding took place at the Lace House at the Governor's Mansion in Columbia.  It was a traditional wedding with a non-traditional cake.  It was a large, 4-tiered wedding cake, all chocolate cake with chocolate fudge frosting.  It was iced with buttercream and enrobed in fondant.  This cake was highlighted with a bright grey sheen, pearls, ruffles and sugar flowers with pale yellow accents.It really turned out nice.

The past two months have been full of beautiful weddings.  I have been blessed to be asked to make lots of wedding cakes and it has been my pleasure.  I'm just going to show a few and talk about them.  You can see them all under wedding cakes.

At the first of September, I provided the cake for a traditional Indian wedding in Columbia, SC.  The home was beautiful and I know that the ceremony was fabulous.  This cake was a 4 tiered cake, enrobed in white fondant with an ethnic ornate pattern in gold and royal purple.  I was very pleased with how the cake turned out and so was the bride.

It takes alot of persistence and committment to get your Eagle Scout badge.  I have alot of respect for those boys that stick with it till the end and become Eagle Scouts.  This weekend, I was priveledged to be asked to make a cake for two brothers, both receiving their Eagle Scout badges.  I wanted to do them and their award justice.

This was a sour cream pound cake with buttercream filling.  The cake is enrobed in fondant with a fondant flag.  The Eagle Scout medal on the top is all hand-crafted from gum paste and edible paints.

Congratulations boys.  You deserve it!

This client called to order a cake of the Wonderpets.  I had never even heard of the Wonderpets.  I didn't know anything about them, so had to do my homework here.  Ended up a cute cake traveling on a long trip to Virginia to make a happy birthday to a 2 year old.  This was a 9 inch chocolate cake with chocolate fudge icing, enrobed in fondant with fondant Wonderpets.

Now, I know what Wonderpets are!

I've taken a few weeks off this summer, but, still found the time to make a few hot summer cakes.  The first one here was for an engagement party.

It was an outside hawaiian themed party.  We  went with the grass skirt, beach, sunset, troipcal colors of of course, the engagement ring!  It was a terrific cake for just the sweetest girl!  This cake was key lime cake, red velvet cake, and sour cream pound.  It was alot of yumminess wrapped in a tropical dress!

The second cake was a repeat customer.  This is a sexy little number for a bachelorette party.  This cake is an all vegan chocolate cake with vegan buttercream.  It was just what she wanted.
